Hyphodontia Sambuci


Found at Te Mata Trust Park, Havelock North on September 29th, 2000. Growing on a dead log.


This fungus can be found year round and plays a major role in the decay and break down of tree litter.


It coats the outside surface of the host like a crust and at a closer look appears to have tiny spines all over it's surface.


Colour white and surface is quite lumpy
